New Delhi: Aggressive attitude towards the match referee during their match in Kochi left players of FC Goa in the ISL to be forced out of action on Friday, after being slapped a fine of Rs 4,40,000 ($6,537) due to misconduct while Luciano Sabrosa and Rafael Dumas faced immediate suspension for two matches each.
Both the franchise and the 2 players have been put aside for misdemeanours in two separate incidents. and charged under the All India Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee rule book during the match against Kerala Blasters on November 8, held in Kochi.
To break it down further, FC Goa has been fined Rs. 2,40,000 ($3,566) and Rs.2,00,000 ($2,972) for the two separate incidents under Articles 53 ‘A’ and ‘B’ of the Disciplinary Code by the AIFF
The ISL in a statement said, “Both Luciano and Rafael will not be available for selection in today’s (11th November) game (Match No. 36) against NorthEast United and the following 16th November game (Match No. 40) against Mumbai City FC, to be played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Goa”
“AIFF Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned a two match suspension with immediate effect to FC Goa players Luciano Sabrosa (Jersey no 4) and Rafael Dumas (Jersey no.5) for the Hero Indian Super League 2016,” added ISL.
“Additionally the Disciplinary Committee have fined FC Goa Rs 2,40,000 (Two Lakh and Forty Thousand) Rs 2,00,000 (Two Lakh) for two separate incidents of ‘team misconduct’ under Article 53 ‘A’ and 53 ‘B’ of the AIFF Disciplinary Code.”
While Goa visibly miffed, opposed the action taken against them in the match, and currently hold seven points in nine matches, so far.
Both Luciano and Rafael will not be available for selection in Goa’s game against NorthEast United FC later on Friday, followed by the one against ‘Mumbai City’ on the 16th of this month.
