Southampton: English all-rounder Moeen Ali believes that England can still win the upcoming Ashes to be played in Australia even if Test vice-captain Ben Stokes isn’t a part of the squad.
Earlier this week, Stokes was arrested for reportedly causing facial injuries and he has been suspended from representing England and there are still doubts as to whether he would board the flight to Australia or not.
“We all know how good a cricketer he is, what he can bring to the table and he’s one of the main players that we have, so it would be great to have him out there but let’s see what happens,” said Ali.
He also added, “If he’s not there then we’re going to have to play well without him so I definitely feel that we can still win.”
Earlier, according to reports from the Daily Telegraph, it was revealed that the man which whom Stokes had a brawl in the bar on Monday morning was an army man who had served in Afghanistan. The 26-year-old name of the man is revealed to be Ryan Hales.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has called for more responsibility on the part of the cricketers towards their behaviour, both on the field and off it.
