Bolt, Hamilton, Sania, Ronda, Spieth & Curry among Time 100 Most Influential People

On Thursday, the Time magazine published the list of 100 most influential people of 2016 from across the globe. The list is a recognition of your impact to make people think about their idea, their performances.

In the list published yesterday, Time included the fastest person ever timed, Jamaican Usain Bolt, the three time World Champion Formula one driver Lewis Hamilton, current Women’s Doubles World No. 1 Tennis player Sania Mirza featured along with former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion & Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, former World no. 1 Golfer (in official Golf ranking), Jordan Spieth and reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry.

All the six personalities have distinguished professional performances: While Bolt is the first man ever to hold both 100M & 200M World record.

In a tribute written by Ziggy Marley, Marley says:

“Usain Bolt is a light. There are a lot of things in Jamaica—and the world—that cause separation: politics, inequality, crime. But an entire generation can look up to Usain. He’s a unifying force.”

Hamilton- a three time World Champion doesn’t have much to achieve further.

In a tribute written by Mario Andretti, a 111 races winner, Andretti writes:

“What makes Lewis different is his attitude. He exudes confidence, but he is serene. I would have loved to race against him, because it would have been a great challenge. It doesn’t seem like anything can rattle him, and that really plays on your mind as a competitor.”

Sania who’s the only Tennis player on the list made history in 2015 when she became the first Indian woman to achieve a No.1 ranking in tennis, win a Grand Slam and claim a second WTA Finals title.

In a tribute written by Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar, Sachin says:

“The Mirzas probably knew what the future held for their daughter. Her name, Sania, means brilliant.”

Ronda, not long ago, was seen as the fighter who had all the chances to retire undefeated.

In a tribute written by Actor, writer and producer, Tina Fey, Fey says:

I fell in love with Ronda Rousey when she announced to the world that she was not a “Do-Nothing Bitch.”

Spieth is two time major champion and defending FedEx Cup Champion.

In a tribute written by Tony Romo, the Pro Bowl quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, Romo says:

“Once every decade or so someone like Jordan Spieth comes along. Jordan captures our imagination on the course and impresses us off of it.”

Curry is the all time greatest shooter in NBA history as claimed by many Basketball player.

In a tribute written by Copeland, the first African-American principal ballerina with the American Ballet Theater, Copeland says:

“I’m in awe every time I see Stephen Curry play. He combines a never-before-seen skill set with the panache and flair of a great performance artist. These skills and an amazing sense of the moment allow him to fearlessly lead his record-setting team by simultaneously fitting in and standing out, allowing his teammates to thrive and willing them to victory time and again.”
